This is a sterling silver rendition of a traditional Hawaiian peahi. This series of three pieces was made to honor great Hawaiian women from three different time periods.
This pieces represents Kalanikauikaʻalaneo Kai Keōpūolani-Ahu-i-Kekai-Makuahine-a-Kama-Kalani-Kau-i-Kealaneo (1778–1823) was a queen consort of Hawaiʻi and the highest ranking wife of King Kamehameha I.
Keōpūolani was pro-education and pro-spirituality. She was a courageous woman, and quiet but effective. She was pro-equality and always compassionate.
